Peace Pole on Indian Hill

Donation protected
On behalf of The Citadel's Sociology of Peace class and the Criminal Justice Department, we are seeking donations to plant a peace pole on campus!

We'd like to dedicate this monument to Professor Reba Parker - this is her final semester teaching at The Citadel and College of Charleston before moving to Texas. She has taught tirelessy for 17 years in Charleston and has accomplished so much in the name of sociology and peace studies. Thank you, Professor Parker!

A brief background - A peace pole is a monument that displays the message “May Peace Prevail on Earth” – planting a pole on campus serves to link The Citadel community with the city of Charleston.  The peace pole will serve as a daily reminder to strive towards peace within yourself, within the community, and throughout the world.  Through the tragic events of the past year, Charleston has proven time and time again that we are a community of peace and unity. The Citadel and cadet volunteers have made an enormous impact throughout Charleston , performing over 16,000 hours of service just this year - all in the name of service learning and contributing to a community that has given us so much! The planting of this peace pole will bring the 2015-2016 academic school year to a close with a beautiful ceremony and cement The Citadel's dedication to a more peaceful world.
