I've written an inspirational children’s book called Blue, the Ring-Tailed Lemur, about a lemur who wants to become a tennis pro, against all odds. It’s a big goal for little Blue! The story teaches children how to face challenges of self-doubt and fear of failure, as Blue tries to overcome many fantastic obstacles, such as his size disadvantage, or having to compete with an octopus with eight tennis rackets. Yikes! Succeeding was a lot harder than he expected, but Blue was willing to practice and work hard to master his plan and achieve his goals. Blue used every ounce of his soul to face the notorious warrior Lion King, Tennis Champion of the Universe!

This first publication will, I hope, launch a series of stories, taking Blue to Madagascar to help other lemurs learn how to play tennis and be more loving to our planet. With his winning edge, Blue will travel to tennis competitions all over the world, while spreading his message of conservation and peace. This self-help, inspirational book will contribute to "World Peace Awareness" here on Earth - in our lifetime!

The story is complete and I am now seeking a talented illustrator to bring Blue’s message to life. That’s why I started this page, to raise funds to pay an illustrator and to underwrite publication of Blue, the Ring-Tailed Lemur. My goal is to raise $10,000.

This is my first book, and it melds the passions of my life. I was raised and educated in lower Manhattan, N.Y.C., after being adopted from Seoul, South Korea in 1977. I have a Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management & a Master’s Degree in Aviation Science.  I’ve taught tennis for twenty years, with certifications from the United States Professional Tennis Association (U.S.P.T.A.) & the United States Professional Tennis Registry (U.S.P.T.R.). My mother, Penelope Bodry-Sanders, founded the Lemur Conservation Foundation, and through her passion for conservation, I’ve grown to love these beautiful lemur creatures. Like so many endangered animals, lemurs need champions of all sizes and ages to save them from becoming extinct!
