Kenneth Needs Our HELP!
Hey Seattle.... Kenneth Ulstad, of Who Took Your Photos, had a run in with some of Seattle's seediest last night. He was attacked and mugged. Not only was he hurt, but his whole life, rent, and way to MAKE rent was in the bag that was stolen.
He needs our help. Whether you can kick $5 or $100, now is the time to step up and help, before he's left with no other choice than to ditch out on the fair city that just kicked the crap out of him.
From his Facebook post today:
"Well Seattle you win. I quit. If you didn't want me here you could have just asked me to leave. Last night I went to Highline to capture Indiyanaperformance. While I was walking back to my car someone attempted to assault and rob me. I shouldn't say attempted because they were successful. They made off with my camera, two lenses, my wallet (which held my rent MO), and some product from my day job. I was also stabbed in the leg and knocked out. Also had my back tooth broken from the hit that knocked me out.
The officer who took my statement at the hospital kept asking me why did I fight back and why didn't I just give them my back pack. I kept telling him my whole life was in that backpack and the guy only had a knife and was not as big as me. I did three years Krav Maga training and have had two two other times I had successfully fought off attackers in my life. I am of the mentality that if you have a gun you get everything I have on me, but if you have a knife you better be prepared to stab me.
Well the person who assaulted me must of be on something cause I fought hard and I believe in the struggle I broke or at least wrecked the attackers left hand. I managed to twist and here snap the four index fingers in his left hand before I was hit from the side and knocked unconscious.
All that said Seattle I can't do this anymore. This city has been a magnet if shit and horrible experience with very little glimpses of hope or Good fortune. Seattle you have taken everything from me. So I get the message Seattle you don't want me here and now that I have lost the only thing I had left that gave me any real joy.... My camera & photography .... I can't see myself able to stay here much longer ... I also lost my wallet which had my rent money order in it... So chances are I will be evicted when I can't pay rent...
Message received Seattle ... Now to figure out how I get home.... The nice people at the hospital gave me my bloody pant leg back they cut off from one of the two pairs of pants I own that fit me still after losing weight .... So at least I have a souvenir .... FML!"
