Hope for Hollie

$7,175 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 92 people in 1 month
Unfortunately Hollie passed away on 5/15/18 at 11:45 AM.  Her 18 month battle against cancer is over.  She was surrounded by her family as she peacefully and quietly passed.  There was no pain.  She is no longer suffering, she is no longer fighting.  She can finally rest.

In these moments of grief and sorrow people are continually asking what they can do to help.  Honestly, there is little that we as a family need in terms of material support.  However, I know that some are still motivated to assist in whatever ways the can.  For those that wish to donate money, this fund has shifted from a medical care fund, to a memorial fund.  All monies donated will be used to help cover funerary expenses and Elliott's future education costs.

At a time like this I like to remember that Hollie would be embarrassed by the outpouring of love and support.  She would be embarrassed by the expressions of grief because she did not want to be the center of attention.  That humble and geniune response is something that helped make her the amazing person that we all love and as we grieve her passing, it is important to remember every piece of her that made us smile as well.

Thank you everyone for your generosity.

It is with great sadness that I must inform you all that Hollie passed this morning at 11:45. She was surrounded by mom, dad, and myself. There was no pain. She went peacefully and quietly without struggle. I want to thank all of you for your love and care over the duration of Hollie's fight.

I am returning to Illinois tomorrow. Hollie has taken a turn for the worst. She was rehospitalized Tuesday evening with difficulty speaking and complaining of headaches. Her tumor sites are swelling and causing these concerns. It also appears that the steroids have stopped controlling the swelling. We are not sure she will recover enough to go back to the nursing home. My thanks to everyone who has donated and is thinking of our family in this incredibly tough time.

We've passed $5,000 dollars in donations. We're over halfway there. I'd say I feel like breaking into a Bon Jovi song right now but I'm trying not to live on a prayer. Okay, I'm finished I swear. However, we are over half way there and that is an amazing thing. I want to thank each and every one of you who has cared enough to share, to donate, and to care.

I'm wrapping up my time in Illinois. I've visited my sister several times in her nursing home. She is gaining strength and we are hoping to move her home as soon as possible. We're incredibly thankful for all you who have donated. With a few offline donations we have surpassed $4500 dollars raised. Hopefully with a few more donations we will break $5000 and we will be over halfway there. Thank you again to every single one of you who have donated and all of you who will. My nephew would like to help.
Thank You!
