Paws for Riley

Donation protected
Riley Carty is like any other active 12-year-old, he goes to school and hangs out with his friends!!! The major difference is Riley has a rare form of epilepsy, that is so severe that he has multiple seizures, multiple times a day. He condition was so severe that the Doctors at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia performed a very risky brain surgery.   The surgery was deemed a “cautious” success, and slowed down the amount of seizures Riley has every day.  Riley wants his independence like every child, including the opportunity to be home alone for short periods of time.  In order for his dream to come true, Riley would need a service dog that could detect the seizures coming on. This dog could help Riley lead that normal teenage life he yearns to have. The cost of finding and training a service dog is $35,000. Riley lives with his single mother Jennifer and his sister Dana. Jen is an EMT that services the City of Camden NJ. Her salary could never cover all the necessary medicines and the cost of this service dog.  We need help to raise the funds for this dog and give Riley the independence he longs to have.
