Home Fire Victims Now Homeless

My home caught fire yesterday while I was sleeping with family. I have a 2 year old daughter and 8 year old son. We were not expecting it and had to run out of our house. The parts that did not get burned were flooded instead. Unfortunately, we did not have renter's insurance. We have started looking for an apartment but we do not have enough money to cover the moving costs and month and a half security deposit most places require. The Red Cross has provided us with help for 3 days. We can afford the first month's rent and some of the security deposit at this time but we truly need help. We living with friends and family for what we hope is temporary.  We feel lucky to have gotten out alive because no alarms went off. The fire began above my son's bedroom and our upstairs neighbor woke us up by ringing the doorbell. If he had not rang the doorbell we would not be here right now. I would really like for my children to have a home again. Our family worked very hard for everything we had and we will continue to do so but this was just very unexpected.
