Paul Nelson Memorial Fund
Donation protected
My father-in-law, Paul Nelson passed away suddenly and unexpectedly last week. He and his wife Jeanette have been active and contributing members of the Willameite Sailing Club in Portland Oregon for well over thirty years and Paul even served as Commodore at one point.
Paul's legacy is that of a teacher and a sailor. Over his lifetime, Paul restored numerous thistle class sailboats, raced in many regattas and even lent his red Tolman skiff to be used by the race committee on several occasions -- He founded the sailing school at WSC. Still, one of his greatest joys was teaching his children how to sail and as a result, both of his children Kelly and Stephen as well as his wife Jeanette also taught sailing at WSC camps for many years.
The goal of this campaign is to endow a scholarship fund for WSC in Paul's name so that more youth might learn how to sail.
For anyone wishing to attend, Paul's memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, Jan 14 @ Orient Drive Baptist Church in Sandy, OR
