Paul's Memorial Fund

Donation protected
The Paul Goodman Memorial Fund for Jason and Asha. On December 16, 2017 Dr. Paul E. Goodman passed away unexpectedly and tragically, leaving behind a wife, two year old son, and six day old newborn daughter. He was one of the greatest people you could ever know. Paul grew up in  New Jersey and he loved living there. While in medical school Paul moved to Jersey City and quickly built a large circle of friends. Most people knew him or heard all about him. He was bestowed the nickname “Doctor Paul” and became something of a fixture in JC. Many of the people Paul became friends with he became best friends with. He placed a high value on friendship and always kept you in mind. Once Paul became a doctor he established a private practice in Wayne, NJ. His patients spoke very highly of him and he took great satisfaction in his work -- in helping people find better health. He connected with his patients and wasn’t just a doctor to them but a true friend as well. People opened up to him and he deeply cared for those around him. Paul met Monica Behl in 2012 and they fell in love. Two years later they married. A year after that, they welcomed their son Jason into the world. Paul loved being a father and treated Jason with exceptional love and pride. They were best friends. Jason was his favorite person in the whole world. Paul loved his new family so much that he wanted a second child right away. On December 10, 2017 Paul and Monica welcomed Asha, a baby daughter, into the world. Paul was thrilled that Jason now had Asha for a baby sister. Paul was a great friend, brother, son, brother-in-law, son-in-law, husband, and father. Even his rescue dog Clifford loved him to pieces! He was usually the smartest person in the room and in your life. His sense of humor was large and quick and witty. Paul loved people and valued great conversations, even personal ones about life’s up and downs. You could always go to him with a question or problem and he never turned you away. Instead, he engaged and dug in, he gave you the full attention of his brilliant mind. Paul’s death was more than tragic; he was in the prime of his life. He was full of life and love and personality. Paul will never again get to be his family's mentor, protector, friend, or father. Jason and Asha will now only have Monica to turn to for everything that both a mother and father would normally give their children. Due this tragedy and to the uncertainty of life, friends and family have set up this GoFundMe campaign for those who wish to give to help Paul’s children. Any dollar amount will be greatly appreciated and will be set aside for Jason and Asha's well-being. Thank you. Louis James Iocca Why does it take the darkest night To let the stars shine so bright What makes a man take his hand And push his soul out of the fold Don’t you know I had your back We ALL had your back You lived in a city of family To share life’s burden, happily But no one dies when they live in your mind As part of your beating heart Eternity is only time And you are timeless art The first to boldly go To take those giant leaps Marriage, fatherhood The covenants we keep A medicine man from Emerson We knew as transcendental A soul not of the common mold As you were monumental One life, it was too small To contain all that was Paul So now he’s off to where the giants must go That turn today’s gray rain into tomorrow’s brilliant snow Because the brightest star can only fall Out of the darkest of night To land into our hearts So that we may take flight Farewell friend Farewell brother Farewell son Farewell father Farewell husband, farewell.
