On July 27th 2019, close friends and family of Patty Zapf-Bowser received devastating news. Patty has been diagnosed with Stage IV Uterine Cancer that had metastasized and spread to her lungs. Patty was scheduled to start treatment July 31st, which included placing a port in her chest along with Chemotherapy. Afterwards, she was scheduled for an appointment on August 12th for a consultation at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
Unfortunately, Patty has yet to make it to Johns Hopkins. Instead her health took a significant turn for the worse. Due to the aggressive nature of the tumors in her lungs, Patty has ended up on a ventilator to keep her alive and support her breathing.
Patty has been on a ventilator since July 30th and is still bravely fighting for her life. Today would be her 3rd round of Chemotherapy. The aggressive tumors in her chest are starting to respond to therapy. However, with her immune system being compromised she has developed pneumonia which has created further complications.
Patty has a long fight ahead of her but we know she s a fighter. Surgery is imminent in order to remove the Uterine Cancer which will be coupled with Chemotherapy, possibly radiation and rehabilitation. Her husband, family and friends will be with her every step of the way.
The mounting medical bills are placing a huge burden on Patty's family. Her husband Dave is struggling day to day to keep working while his wife is bravely battling for her life. This humble, kind and gentle woman with a heart of gold needs our prayers and our support.
Any contribution no matter how small will help provide grateful financial relief for Patty and Dave.
Thank you!
