PATTI'S PURPLE WARRIORS

The Newington Field Hockey team is participating in the Charity 5K Run/Walk at the Hartford Marathon on Saturday, October 14, 2017. We will be running in honor of a Newington resident, family member, and family friend of the team who tragically lost her life. On September 21, 2017, Patricia “Patti” Procaccini Torbicki was taken too soon by a senseless act of domestic violence. In addition to being a dedicated Sunday School teacher at Mill Pond Church, Patti was a vocalist in their Worship Group. She was a vibrant, beautiful, and selfless person who always put others before herself. Patti leaves behind her dearest son Donovan who is also a Newington High School student. In honor of her memory, the Newington Field Hockey team will be participating in this event to raise awareness for domestic violence and to help alleviate the expenses of college for Donovan. In remembrance, we encourage anyone participating our charity to wear purple, Patti’s favorite color.
