Patsy's Seaside Hurricane recovery

Donation protected
In 1987 the couple Marjorie and Mitchell Connor being married for 19 years decided to aspire in a tourist oriented business venture. They made use of a government sponsored loan made available to civil serants, which majorie was until the year 2000.

Within four months Patsys SeaSide Villas was born. The property was named after the couples first girl child, Lisa, Patriacia, Michelle, Connor.

That first two bedroom villa, now known as serenity was completed.

Three years later the couple decided that one villa was not enough so they expand the business by going up stairs with funds made from Serinity villa, bringing about Villa Tranquility into existence. Villa Tranqulity was topped off with a high wooden roof.

The two villas, ground floor and upper, became a home away from home for many seasonal groups.

In 1995 Hurricane Louis
which was what Anguilla thought was the worse hurricane the Anguillian people had ever experienced, struck hard and brought the beach and two boats right up to Serinities door step
Thank God, all we got was water and sand however we were able to rebuild the beach and yard making it a perfect time to again expand.

At that time Anguilla was progressing rappidly

therefore the two single bedroom Harmoney and Bird of Paradise were born

in 1998 limin and oasis
the final two villas were built ontop of harmony and bird of paradise

business paid for it self and became profitable right up until 2008
from 2009 until 2014 business was slow. However we were grateful to those return seasonal guest that never gave up on us

2015 until now would have progressively been the best years patsys seaside villas had enjoyed since 2005 and 2018 was looking promiceing until this caterstrophic hurricane put the whole island on pause

Nothing could have prepared
the family and staff for this type of disaster. Though the buildings were secured. Hurricane Irma ripped all the shutters completely off. The sea and sand rowed through Serinity (the first villa space) shattering the slidding door, two windows and all interior doors. It also left up to 8 inches of sand and debree thoughout the building. the bedroom furniture for the room facing the beach including the queen size bed cannot be found. The second floor Tranquility with the wooden roof was blown off half way and all the interior funiture was damaged, the slidding door completely destroyed.

This particular villa space was the best selling of all. Persons would reserve years in advance in order to secure their vacation with us. Similar damage was done to the second building. The only difference was that this building carried a concrete roof which stayed however all of the rooms were manorly affected including the electrical and plumbing.

So we are out to reconstruct a new and improved Patsys with the help of friends and love ones as we quickly approach the season.
