I'm trying to help raise money for the New Pathways Community Crisis Center here in Boise, Idaho. They opened December 12th of 2017
Today hospitals and local law enforcement agencies spend a lot of time helping people whose mental illness is flaring up, are suicidal, using drugs or alcohol, and are likely confused and angry. Having been homeless, struggling with addiction, and mental health once myself, I can tell you how great is to know resource are available to help people get away from their crisis and trauma instead of going to the ER and/or jail.
The Pathways Community Crisis Center of Southwest Idaho is a non-profit 501C3 and will provide up to 23 hours and 59 minute of stabilization, behavioral health services, and community linkage at no cost to men and women ages 18+.
They will treat individuals who are in need of a safe non-judgmental environment to gain support for their mental health and/or substance abuse challenges. The implementation of a Community Crisis Center will have a positive and significant impact in the counties of southwest Idaho by providing brief medical screening, behavioral health assessments, and solution based counseling, case management services, and peer support services.
These funds would be used not only for the benefit of the Crisis Center but for the individuals in need, it would be helping the homeless gather resources to get housing funds, Mental Health Care, Prescriptions, nutritional food during their stay, transportation, bus passes, taxi, and petty cash for incidental expenses.
