Pastoral Support for Ps Sovann

Hi, my name is Tola. I serve at Springvale South Church of Christ. My involvement with Church has been with Cambodian Christians over the past 10 years (New Life Ministry and Springvale Grace Community Church). In the last three years serving at SSCOC, it has become my passion and desire to see Pastor's in Cambodia who are faithfully serving the LORD get the support they need.
It was brought to my attention by another faithful brother in the Lord back in September 2015 about Ps Sovann's story. A husband and father of two, for a number of years, has established home Churches in Battambang Villages, Cambodia. All without any finanicial support. At times ministering to God's flock without food and basic nessecities. His means of transportation was simply a bicycle travelling up to 40kms.
As you can imagine, a husband and father of two needs to provide for his houshold and thus it is a husband's responsibility for ensuring that the family’s needs are met (1 Tim 5:8) . Serving the Lord in these home Churches becomes a challenge and at times difficult without some financial assistant.
At SSCOC, we have begun this great and exciting journey to support Ps Sovann and his involvement in home Churches. Last year a love offering was raised and with it we were able to provide Ps Sovann with a second hand scooter bike ($1400 USD/$2000 AUD Equivalent) for ministering transportation between home Chruches, 40+ Khmer Bibles and 40+ Song Books ($550 AUD) for these home Churches.
It is important that as believers in the body of Christ, we support those that are in need, especially those who belong to the household of God and are responsbile in minstering to God's flock (1 Tim 5:16-18).
To help Ps Sovann continue in minsitering to God's flock, we are raising a love donation/offering towards another project. A yearly pastoral wage for Ps Sovann to help meet the needs and cost of ministering. $1000 AUD will suppport Ps Sovann ($50 USD a month) and will be able to have basic needs in his service to the Lord such as petrol, food and water.

2 Cor 9:6-8,
"whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work".
