A Call To Action: Andre Johnson

My dear friend, Andre Johnson, has been diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis (MG). MG is a chronic autoimmune disorder in which antibodies destroy the communication between nerves and muscles, resulting in weakness of the skeletal muscles. In addition, Andre has a mass or enlarged thymus gland that has to be removed. The doctors can't preform the surgery until he is stronger. Andre was first admitted on May 9th. The doctors thought he was well enough to spend Mother's Day at home. Andre was rushed back to the hospital on May 18th where he has been ever since.   He is undergoing steroid treatments and plasmaphoresis treatments to try to build up his immunity and strength.  Despite these efforts, Andre is still experiencing severe bouts of weakness, fatigue, and difficulty speaking and swallowing.  Andre's wife, Lisa, has been at his bedside during his hospitalization.  We are calling friends and family to action, as Andre and Lisa have not been able to work in weeks. Andre and his family are facing a huge amount of bills. All donations will go to help pay these bills. This is an urgent matter as the bills just keep growing. No one knows when this difficult time will be over. We are all praying for a speedy recovery and a clean bill of health.
