Pascal Schroth is a German elite pro stand-up fighter, WKU lightweight Muay Thai World Champion, multiple K1 Champion and the K1 head-coach at Phuket Top Team, Thailand.

On October 20th 2018, Pascal fought a rematch fight against the Chinese fighter Qinghao Meng, for the Chinese promotion WLK.
Pascal suffered a serious injury to his neck in the first 30 seconds of the fight after his opponent Meng, maliciously spiked him, head first to the canvas causing his 5th vertebrae in the cervical spine to snap.
Qinghao Meng’s move is illegal in any combat sport in the world.

Pascal is truly lucky to be alive, but now has thousands of dollars in medical bills that the promotion and opponent refuse to cover.

After the horrible incident, Pascal was transferred to a hospital where he received questionable treatment. For two days Pascal laid flat on the hospital bed in China, unable to move and unaware of his own injury.
No medical physician spoke to Pascal about his injury or the treatment to follow.
Pascal was denied any outside help, he was not provided with a translator nor an attorney.

On Monday Oct 22nd, the promoter of the organization and the opponent visited Pascal to the hospital, handed him 50.000 Chinese yuan in cash (7000 USD $) and then sent him off to the airport two days after suffering the injury of a broken neck.

Pascal visited Dr. Gerhard Melcher, orthopedic surgeon in Phuket on Oct 23rd. Only then did he learn about his own injury.
Overwhelmed with this experience, Pascal is still positive to make a full recovery and is determined to continue to pursue his martial arts career.
But being robbed of time in his prime is priceless.
This is a matter of a dangerous illegal action, serious injury, injustice, gross negligence and mistreatment and a real loss of time and money. It is unknown for how long Pascal is unable to work. He must wear a braise at all times to support his neck until the fracture heals which can be anywhere between 6 weeks to 3 months. Then to follow with rehab. It is now three weeks since the incident and Qinghao Meng has continued on with his own fighting career. He is not being held responsible for his actions.

This account is being created to support the financial cost of medical bills and legal fees, plus to raise awareness to the fighting community. No one should ever have to experience what Pascal is going through.
Please help us raise awareness on this matter. Any support is much appreciated.

Pascal is extremely grateful to be alive and promises to never take his life or his family for granted. He is very grateful for all of the help and support.
