Parkside Sunday School Debut

We are members at God's House of Brotherly Love Church 2, in Bellwood IL who have been called to go into neighborhood parks, in west suburban Chicago to preach the gospel to at-risk children. Parkside Sunday School is inspired by a children's ministry outreach "Sidewalk Sunday School" a concept founded by a pastor in Brooklyn, NY over 30 years ago. The sidewalk ministry is still operating today reaching thousands of children a week!
Our goal is to create a fun ministry experience that reaches, teaches and shows love to that child just as Jesus loves children. There are a ton of expenses that come with our effort to accomplish this goal so we need your support. We have planned activities, games, worship, teachings that are age-appropriate and engaging to children. We will also make sure that no child leaves empty handed as we pass out food, snacks, and candy to make sure the children are excited to return the following week.
The first session of this outreach will take place this summer, every saturday for 10 weeks between the dates of June 3rd and August 19th, 2017. Our budget has been set high because we still need to purchase the activity truck (14' box truck) that transforms into a platform/stage when ministering to children. If we exceed our goal, we will have the opportunity to make this program perpetual and reach more children by visiting additional parks in the region. We are determined to make every effort to fight the vicious cycle of substance abuse, ignorance, gangs and murder in our chicago land communities through the miracle working power of faith and action.
