Park Vista Apartment Fire

My name is Nickisha Hickerson, I live at the Park Vista Apartment Complex in Opelousas LA. Last night at approximately 11:30pm (March 10th 2017) one of the 2 buildings in my apartment complex (the building across from mine) caught on fire. The building consisted of 10 units, 9 which were occupied. The entire building was completely destroyed by the fire. Thankfully no one was hurt however the 9 families all lost their homes and most or all of their possessions. A total of 15 people lived in those apartments including 2 children. What I would like to do is raise enough money to cover the firsts months rent at a new apartment and a little extra to help recover some of their belongings. Here at Park Vista rent costs between $450 to $475 per month so the goal is to get each family $1000 to help them get back on their feet. $1000 per family isn't going to cover all of the things they lost but I believe it is a good starting point. I am also asking for prayers and well wishes for these families as they work through this tragedy. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, donations and shares.
