Paradise CA Dancers In Need
OUR PARADISE LINE DANCE FAMILY URGENTLY NEEDS YOUR HELP!
A note from Rachael McEnaney-White, Michele Burton & Michael Barr
The most destructive fire in California history is also the deadliest.
As I (Rachael) returned from a week long road trip, I laid my head down to sleep thinking how good it felt to be home, as soon as the thought crossed my mind it immediately went back to the people of Paradise California.
Any money you donate will be going DIRECTLY to dancers and friends of our Paradise dance community who have lost their homes.
Important:
I noticed when I donated that GoFundMe offered a 'tip' option, you can alter this to $0 by selecting OTHER from the drop down menu, replacing the number you see to $0. GoFundMe automatically take 2.9% processing fee plus 30cents per donation, should you want to offer a tip to the company that is at your discretion.
The worst fire in Northern California state history has affected the dance community of Paradise CA. Sylvia Carter and 7 members of her class lost their homes. (Can you imagine 13,000+ homes being destroyed in your community?) Sylvia has lived in Paradise for 49 years and taught dance for over 25 of those. She and her husband Allen are long-time friends of the dance community. She is temporarily staying in Sacramento awaiting the time when she and Allen can go up to their property and have some closure.
We are reaching out to the supportive dance community to donate to Sylvia and the members of her class who have lost their homes and belongings. The fire moved so quickly that evacuees had no time to gather much of anything.
We are also reaching out to help two individuals in the retirement facility where mom (Lorraine Kurtela - Ms. Hello Dolly) lives. These two wonderful souls (Larry Ellis and Susan Maurer) work tirelessly everyday to meet the needs of mom and the other residents. They make is easier for Lorraine, 94, to follow her passion and that is teaching her line dance class each Friday afternoon. They lived in Paradise and also lost their homes.
Donating to these line dancers and caregivers may help make their lives, which have been turned upside down a bit better. Your support is greatly appreciated. Every little bit helps.

Imagine waking up and the world you knew when you went to sleep was no more.
As the community of Paradise started to open their eyes on November 8th from a normal night of rest something was not right. Something in the air was very wrong.
At this update there have been 13,000 homes destroyed and with commercial and retail buildings the count is over 19,000 structures. We can not wrap our minds around this as it is just to devastating.
