Gonzo's Liver Transplant

Monday May 4, 2015 we got the 2nd call that a liver donor was available!  So, off to the Mayo Clinic we went again with feelings of excitement and nervousness! It was a viable organ this time from California thanks to the donors family who had to make the heart wrenching decision to take their loved one off life support and donate the organ!  We will forever be thankful and grateful to this wonderful family as their loved one will remain alive through Paul or "Tony" as everyone knows him by!  After 7 hours of surgery w complications during and after, to where we almost lost him, then another emergency surgery for an infection, all which injured his kidneys to where he is currently having dialysis three times a week to help them recover.  Now, finally the kidneys are slowly starting to function normally so he won't need to have a kidney transplant also so far!  Unfortunately, things happen even beyond the doctors control and along w the infection he caught he contracted a rare fungus which has to be treated w an anitfungal medication that is very very expensive which we did not account for and so we have ended up here, trying to raise funds to help pay for all his meds as the 1st is the most expensive year of all!  So with either $5 or $50 that you can donate to Tony, his family is forever grateful and appreciative as we love him just as much as all of you do!! Your support and prayers have been what has gotten us and our children through these last three trying weeks and looking forward to returning home to the comfort of our family, friends and community.
