It's taken me a long time to figure out what I want to do, but being able to tell stories in a comic medium is something I enjoy doing more than I can say.
In college, telling stories was what I wanted to do. I was submitting stories to the college creative writing journal (I did get one published), editing them, even coming up with my own comic strips. But that was for fun, something "else", my real job would be more...well...real. "I've got to make money after all" I thought.
I wasn't all wrong, my main dream at the time was having a family, the job didn't matter. Fifteen some year later, I have a great family, but now I know, the job does matter.
So this is my chance. With your help, I can upgrade my production equipment to produce better comics at a faster rate. And more, if I exceed my goal, I can look at improving the website, creating a logo, and if it goes real well, I can start attending comic cons, and even bringing in outside talent.
I have a plan, I just need help getting it started.
This is what I would like:
15-inch MacBook Pro - $2800
Wacom Intuos Pro - $500
Taxes/Shipping - $400
The computer and wacom tablet I'm wanting will allow me to produce the comics with photoshop. I've worked with photoshop for over 15 years and am very well versed in it's capabilities. It will help me get the comic to the point where I feel confident starting to make money from it .
The timing for this isn't really ASAP, but the sooner I can complete funding, the sooner I can begin working on better versions of the comic immediately.
I can finally start doing what I should have been doing 20 years ago, pursuing a career writing and drawing my own comic.
For any and all support, it means a lot to me not only monetarily, but emotionally. You are giving me encouragement to work on what means the most for my career.
