1st Dominican Republic Graduation

Donation protected
My name is Deborah Knapp. It has always been my dream to go to another country. Because of mistakes I made in my youth I didn't believe that it was possible but I was wrong. For my 60th birthday I was able to go to the Dominican Republic on a mission's trip. My first mission trip and my first time out of the country. Every year our church Fairfax Church of Christ collects items for the school kids in the remote area of Bobita. The weekend following Thanksgiving a group travels along with one of our Elders who looks and acts like Santa Clause. We have the pleasure of giving out the Magi Boxes to the kids and see their happy faces as they receive gifts from strangers that tell them about the love of Jesus.

While there I fell in love with the people and decided to become a half sponsor for one of the students at Manna Christian School. Anderson is such a sweet, smart and happy young man. He is a hard worker and has made it to his senior year in school. This June the first graduating class will receive their diplomas and pave the way for those after them to follow. Most are planning on going on to college and to spread the word through the student ministry they have formed.

It is my prayer and goal to be there to see Anderson and the others graduate. This is why I need the money. I am just trusting in God to make a way for me to pay my way there along with lodging and food. If you want to be a part of making Anderson's dream of me being there to watch him graduate I would greatly appreciate it.

I would love to share pictures and stories about the amazing people in the mission field and the students.
