A Long and Slow Surrender

Last November I set out on an adventure to look at Confederate Monuments and how they influence religious, racial, and rural connections in Southern communities. The work has had great success in the photographic community. I am profoundly appreciative of all the recognition this project has received.

Please take a few minutes to watch the video below. It's not complete. I need to get back out on the road to photograph more monuments and to capture a broader spectrum of viewpoints. 

You can help me as I head out in September to photograph and shoot video across the South for my latest project,  "A Long and Slow Surrender". 

The title of this project comes from my favorite Kate Campbell song, Look Away.

All donations will go to gas, food, and lodging expenses. My departure date is September 17, 2018 and I will be gone for 3 weeks.  

Support for this project will further my career as a photographer and give me the means to shed light on both sides of this issue. 

$10 buys me snacks for the road!
$30 buys me a tank of gas!
$60 pays for my food for 2 days!
$100 gets me a hotel if I don't have a place to stay!

What do you get for your contribution? I will create an email group and a Facebook Group consisting of all who donate and post videos chronicling my journey. You will get first-hand info on where I'm going, what I'm thinking, or maybe what I'm having for breakfast...there will be cheese grits for sure!
