Oxford School/PTA's "Aladdin Kids"

Last year, the community of Oxford Elementary School had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to begin developing a musical theater program through a grant with Playhouse Square and Disney Musicals in Schools. Through this partnership, Oxford has engaged more than 100 students who worked hard to create a wonderful theatrical experience last spring. This program has transcended simply a spring musical to also include an avenue to identify elementary students who are gifted in the arts!
Last year, our production of Lion King Kids was performed three times to sold out audiences and instilled a love of musical theater in our cast and crew. This year, we are continuing the tradition with Aladdin Kids! Our amazing Aladdin Kids team has been working hard since October to prepare for our upcoming shows in March - Thursday, March 9th and Friday, March 10th at 7:00pm and, also, Saturday, March 11th at 2:00pm.
Our show last year wouldn't have been possible without the generous contributions of so many to help make this dream become a reality. We began with a budget of zero dollars and raised enough to begin building a sustainable musical theater experience for our students. This year, we have raised our fundraising goal! The reason for this is because we are trying to build a program that grow over time. Next year, we have to purchase the rights to the musical we perform which will be an added cost. We, also, are aiming to start purchasing lighting and audio equipment instead of having to rent them year to year. We realize that our goal is steep, but if you would consider any donation to this worthy cause, please know that you are helping build a legacy at Oxford Elementary School for years to come.
** As an additional incentive to donate, we have been approached by an anonymous donor who will match the first $1,000 raised for Aladdin Kids! We are humbled by this generosity and cannot begin to express our appreciation for every donation :)
