Owen is a border collie! A very small, very active border collie.
Owen loves playing with his brother and sister. But, lately he hasn't quite been able to keep up, even though he's a 6 month old border collie! After watching Owen have to sit out of his favorite games at UpDog events and our Winter Toss & Fetch league because of a mysterious limp, we took Little O for some x-rays.
Owen was diagnosed with bilateral Osteochondritis Dissecans, or OCD. Basically, this means that both of his front sholders have diseased cartilage on them that pulls away from the bone underneath, creating a calcified flap. So, out little six-month-old border collie is in a tremendous amount of pain every time he takes a step. For Owen, this condition can be fixed with surgery, removing the calcifications and creating blood flow to promote healthy cartilage growth.

So, Little O, his brother and sister, and his human-parents (including his human disc buddy!) are looking for some assistance with his surgery. Becasue we are a young couple (and the human disc buddy is a new high school teacher) the surgery isn't something that we can afford. We have CareCredit, which will help, but it isn't enough.
Please donate today to help Little Owen get back out on the disc field! This condition is best treated when the affected doggo is a puppy, so we are hoping to get Owen in and out of surgery ASAP!
