Overdue school lunches at Woodland

I saw a post on Facebook tonight about raising funds to pay off kid's overdue lunch accounts. I know there aren't many days left in the school year but I would like to do the same, with your help, for Woodland Elementary in Lafayette. On our son's first day of Kindergarten a teacher told us kids with unpaid lunch accounts will be given a cold cheese sandwich to eat until the balance is at $0. That same teacher said she would not allow the students in her class to eat a cheese sandwich for lunch and that she pays up their accounts so they can eat a healthy meal, if necessary. I should have started this fundraiser then, better late then never! Sometimes a school lunch is the only good meal a child gets. I will start with the Kindergarten students first and work my way up the grade levels. All money left over at the end of this school year will either go to the teachers for school supplies for the following school year, will be saved for next school year's lunches or both if possible. I will continue to leave this fundraiser up as long as people are making donations. All the children that receive the donations will be kept anonymous. No amount is too small. A child's lunch is $1.90 a day. Thank you in advance.
