I came to United States in 1999 as an international student, after 8 years’ practice as a physician in China. I worked in Chinese Restaurant, in my graduate school, helped out a Jewish family to finish my study. After I got my graduate degree, I started to work in Loyola Medical Center as a clinical researcher, I met with my husband Paul O’Malley in 2001, we had a good life together, and there were ups and downs, just like other couples. Paul was a very health man until he was diagnosed Nasal Small Cell Carcinoma, stage IV. Paul was a private man, he didn’t want other people feel sorry for him, so we went through chemotherapy, radiation and immunotherapy without asking for any helps, we did appreciate greatly the regular visits from our pastor and church friends. Paul was doing ok until his condition got worse, finally he insisted to go home for his care, I hired a Mexican lady to take care of him during the days, so I could finish my big grant application. I was alone the night he died, that was the darkest moment in my life, and I felt that I was such a loser, no close friends in the crisis.

Now I think back, I was wrong, I am a giver, I have helped a lot of people, but I have a hard time to ask for help, so here I am. I have battled financial stress for over one year, a lot of my friends have helped me financially, I have sold my house,  and used up all my savings,  with God’s help, finally the institution has decided to release all the funds once I pay off $50K regulation fees, which I don’t have now. Your help will be greatly appreciated, please feel free to leave your email, phone number or wechat ID, so I can give back to you once I receive my money. Thank you very much for your help and support, the funds from the institution will be used to support people in need.

James 2:14-17 New International Version (NIV)
Faith and Deeds
14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
