Hi and thanks for checking this out. I did not really want to do this but I've all but given up hope that my equipment will be recovered, so my options really are quite limited. Here's my story...
Roughly around new years or just after someone or a few someones broke into my shop and stole roughly $20,000 worth of meat processing equipment from my shop. Everything from a $6000 meat grinder all the way down to my $30 coffee maker... basically anything that wasn't nailed down they took.
No big deal right, just go to insurance... well not exactly... I just started the business in November and was planning on getting insurance put on everything in January after a few jobs.
This equipment was basically the product of 5 years of hard work for me, whatever funds I could spare went into purchasing what I could as I came across it.
Its extremely disheartening to walk into your place of business one morning and see everything you've worked your butt off for the last 5 years just gone.
The story gets better, so far since mid January, I have missed out on 15 calls for custom beef. That's roughly $1000 each, lost because I don't have the equipment to process them anymore. Its probably about the same number of pork customers as well that have called, they're roughly around $300 each...
And it didn't affect just me, I also had 3 full time employees lined up to start working, along with 2 part time employees. I know for sure one of the guys who was going to be full time is currently unemployed still and is barley able to get by as it is.
So that's basically it, I'd really just like it if my equipment was recovered but seeing as that's probably not going to happen I will probably have to go and buy all new (or new to me) stuff. I just want to get back to work as soon as possible and provide excellent service to my future customers.
Obviously the financial help provided by you would go toward equipment, but this time I'll learn from my mistakes and invest in security equipment as well, and put insurance on it right away.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and please share. Thank you.
(Ps: I know there are vegans and such saying, "oh big bad butcher", or "animal killer bad guy", or something like that, but please I'm just a honest, hard working guy trying to make a living just like the rest of us.)
