Outer Rim Collective Comic Shop

My name is Cruz Hernandez. I am trying to stake my claim in the West Texas comic book and geek culture landscape. This stake will be the Outer Rim Collective comics and pop culture shop.
Along with being an avid reader/collector, I'm also passionate about selling comic books and delivering geek chic items to those in the San Angelo, TX area. I have 15 years of retail experience and about six years of experience working closely with comic books. I'm currently with a national retail corporation that is soon to close its doors, and I want to be able to pick up the market that is soon to be abandoned in this area.
Outer Rim Collective intends to sell comic books, manga, anime, novelty items, action figures, and many other collectible items. We also want to take this opportunity to become involved with various community activities that promote learning and reading. I think we can all agree that today's youth don't have the educational backing or attention that they so direly need. A huge step in opening fresh minds is through reading. I want to use comic books as a medium to get young minds, old minds, troubled minds, and minds with learning disabilities interested in reading.
I have a goal of opening the doors to the Outer Rim Collective by the fall of this year. During the past two years, I have attended several workshops held by the Small Business Development Center, read serveral leading books on how to best run a small business, and have begun compliling a true to form business plan.
A plan was in place to acquire a brick and mortar location and then to seek capital startup, but we all know what happens to the best laid plans. The recent liquidation and closure announcement from my employer has caused me to expedite my plans.
Now, I ask you, dear friends, for help.
