First Event:  RETIREMENT and Our “PLAN”

On January 17, 2015 David retired from BCBS our “PLAN”  was for him to work while Marie built our small business, Wild Bird Stop, a wild bird seed store.

“Life is what happens when you make other plans.”

Where's the Check?

When David retired we "planned" on one more check coming from BCBS, but it didn’t happen. Our misunderstanding.

No problem! Social Security starts February 1st.” WRONG AGAIN!  Another misunderstanding. Eight weeks later March 18th, 2015 the check arrives. We're now two months behind on all our bills, but we know we can catch up. David will get a new job that's of “Our Plan".

Second Event:  David’s First Day of Work and the Next Event
David's First Day as a Security Guard

On April 13, 2015, on his third day of work as a security guard, David slipped on a wet floor Rupturing his Bicep Tendon & Tearing 3 of his Rotator Cuffs, requiring surgery. We knew we would struggle, but with Workman’s Compensation at least we have an income.  Besides, we had been through worse times.

YIPPEEEEEE!!!!!!  David Returns to Work!

In Oct. 2015 David returned to light duty work, life is good, however by late summer of 2016 we’re still a month behind on some of our bills. With our faith and hope we will get through this together.

Third Event: David’s Congestive Heart Failure

In August 2016 David woke up wheezing.  5 days in ICU with Congestive Heart Failure. YIKES!
While taking this vacation, his doctor did some tests, then more tests and finally Triple Bi-Pass Heart Surgery.  YIKES AGAIN! David had to take leave of absence from work. Here we go again with no income. It's only 3 months and we will manage.

Fourth Event: YIPEEEE!!!! David’s Returning to Work Again – Hold on Not So Fast Mr. Nelson!

Late October 2016 David returned to work. The doctor told David to restrict his driving to 30 miles and to work no more than 8 hrs. per day with no more than 30 hrs. a week.
YIKES!  He is only 68 with driving restrictions! Cuts to his pay check? What About Our BILLS?

Also during this time  while helping Marie move into her new building, David stained his back.

David Deals with Driving Restriction Like an Adult! LOL!

Fifth Event: TOTAL LOSS OF WORK!

Early December 2016, David's boss’s idea of helping was a job in Dallas, 50 miles away and three 12-hour shift back to back.  What about the restrictions?  After two months of going against his doctor’s orders, and being hospitalized again for heart issues David resigned from his job. NOT AGAIN!

Sixth Event: LIGHT BULB! SELL HOUSE, MOVE TO AN APARTMENT, FIND WORK - OOPS!

In December 2016, we realized we needed to sell our home, move to an apartment, and use the money to live on until Hubby could find a new job.  Unfortunately, the funds from the house were less than we expected and the move delayed David from finding a job for FOUR months.

David's back continues to be an issue.

Our New Home; a Little Apartment.  Happiness Awaits!  A New Start.   We will recover and We Feel Good About Our "Plans".

GOOD FEELING GONE!

Seventh and Eighth Events:    David Back get Worst and He is Rehospitalizrd for Chest Pain

David has had several injuries to his back including a car wreck and falling on ice that FLARE up doing activities like mowing the yard or lifting heavy objects. During our move he REALLY AGGRAVATED HIS BACK.

As we all get older we have old OUCHES that acts up. You go to move just right and BAM! It hits you, PAIN! You say to yourself where did that come from? Then Pain speaks to you. "Hi, Remember me? I am PAIN! I am back for a LONG visit. I even brought the wife, the kids, the in-laws, the dog and its fleas. YES SIR! PAIN is heeeere for a long stay!" There is NO arguing with PAIN!

David finally, went to the doctor who prescribed physical therapy and pain meds. David is active but his back often hurts him and he needs time to heal.  In March 2017, while chasing Blackie when he escaped from the patio, David had chest pain again, requiring an overnight stay in the hospital.  Praise God! He checked out OK and we caught Blackie.

TENTH Event: David - This Old Dog Needs to Learn New Tricks

April - Nov. 2017 David continues his search for work, however, he has been advised that he needs job training and should updated his computer skills which will take about 6 months.

ELEVENTH Event: Our Business is in JEOPARDY!
Wild Bird Stop Building.  Please Note:  No Signage.

We Have a Tree Painted on the Wall for Our Squirrel Products.

Where's Has the Money Gone?

November 2017, we have been using money meant for our store to pay personal bills, so our business is in danger because store rent is two months late with the internet and electricity turned off.

HELP! It’s not easy asking for help, but "Our Wonderful Life" is in a FINACAIL “NOSE DIVE”. It is very important that we reach a point where we are financially secure.

Here's What We Need To Recover Our "WONDERFUL LIFE".
We Need to Teach an Old Dog New Tricks and Reopen Wild Bird Stop.

FIRST GOAL: Addressing David & Marie’s Short Fall Each Month

Each Month we fall short about $1,970 which includes $1,325 in Health and Dental Insurance which covers both of us. We are thankful for gifts that have kept us flying thus far, however not being financially secure has put undue stress on our health.

6 Months of Expenses:  We need a total of $11,820, so David can focus on regaining his health and upgrade his computer skills for job security.

Your small donation of $5 will help us reach our goal giving David the opportunity to upgrade his computer skills to compete in the market place and will allow time for his back to heal. Without your support he will lose this chance to be financially independent and healthy.

LORD, SHOULD WE FIGHT FOR OUR BUSINESS?

In September we asked God for a Biblical Baseball Bat sign to show us we should fight for our business. The next morning, we spotted a hawk on the property, behind our store.  We ran home for the camera and were surprised the hawk was still there. RATS! Marie's pictures were blurry.  Would the hawk still be there after an hour, or would it be gone.  Marie walked behind the building and THE HAWK WAS STILL THERE!  Marie got her pictures including her FIRST ever picture of a soaring hawk.  As she was putting them on the computer we knew we had spotted something special.  We had spotted a rare bird; the first ever White Tail Hawk sighted in Denton County and the second in North Texas.   WOW! What amazing answer from God!

Our bank and other business advisors say we have a great business plan but need about 6 months to build our customer base and ADVISTISING including signage on building.

Our Second Goal:
For Our Small Business Wild Bird Stop to be a "SEED-CESS!"

Marie is a birdwatcher and loves to share her hobby with others.  We hope by sharing her love of birds, during birding classes and providing wild bird items for sale, she can fulfill her dream of financial security.  Marie Nelson needs to earn enough Social Security credits, by working in her store, for her retirement later.

Money from the sale of our home, that was meant for the store, was used to pay our personal bills during David's health issues.

Funds raised from our GoFundMe page, will provide badly needed signage, advertising, stock, and materials to start a Wild Bird Watching Group, to build our customer base.

A Wonderful Life is Built on DREAMS with Sprinkles of Faith and Hope.

Raising $48,020 is not out of the question.

While fund raising for Campfire in the 1980's Marie was taught how to turn three No’s into a Yes donation.

The theory is for every three No’s we should receive a YES in the form of a donation.

To recap every three people, we share our story with, sadly will be a “No!’ for varies of reasons. And that is understandable.

The HOPE comes from the all important FOURTH PERSON who will be a YES! and a Donation.

This Why It’s So Important to Share Our GoFundMe Page Social Media:

We need over 40,000 SHARES on Social Media as quickly as possible.

It sounds a little crazy but the more people we share our story with, the quicker we fly pass those three No’s and find our 9,604 people will donate $5.00 helping us reach our goals.

After the first $5.00 we only need 9,603 more donations.

We can do this with one $5.00 donation at a time.

Money can’t buy Happiness; but it allows a WONDERFUL LIFE to be less stressful and afull of contentment.
