Funding for respite care
Donation protected
I am reaching out to all of our family, and friends to help support us and Tyler for respite care.
It is very beneficial for Tyler to be provided with the one-on-one care of an in-home respite worker or a social program. He loves the attention he receives and builds a relationship with his workers. The social programs allow him to do arts and crafts, numerous fun activities, and be with his peers and just have fun!!
This also provides a very necessary break for us to unwind and relax from the 24hr care that Ty requires for all of his daily needs and positioning, transfers and lifting. It is physically and emotionally demanding for our family.
As many of you know our little man contracted bacterial meningitis at 3 weeks old which caused a brain injury. He was diagnosed with spastic quadriplegic Cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
We have raised money for Tyler through various successful fundraisers over the years and he has been featured in the Burlington Post. It continuously gets harder to organize, plan and execute these fundraisers especially now that we have our very busy almost 3 year old son, Matthew.
The government is able to support us through Special Services at home(SSAH) and Enhanced respite (medically fragile children) funding for in-home respite care and social programs, however it is limited. We have run out of funding as of January 1st, 2019 until the end of the fiscal year which is March 31st, 2019.
We are hoping you can share this campaign with your family and friends to help raise money for respite care for Tyler.
thank you,
Gord and Kelly
