Our Lives Have Been Upended

Donation protected
Our family has run into an extremely unlucky series of events that have left us struggling. Over the course of the last 4 years, my health has declined to the point that I've been working on getting disability. There has been diagnosis after diagnosis: degenerative disc disease, fibromayalgia, tendonitis and bursitis in my shoulders, fairly severe nerve damage, the list just seems to grow. We were managing things as best we could, and I deal with the daily pain.

All at once, it was like a domino effect happened. We got evicted from our apartment at the beginning of March, the landlord refused to give a reason, but we had lived there since I was pregnant with Lily. All 3 of us got the flu really bad, taking over 2 weeks to fully recover. We had nowhere to go, and no money saved to get in to a new place. As of right now, my parents are allowing us to temporarily stay in a travel trailer they own, hooked up in a coworker's yard.

We worked until the very last minute to move and clean our former place. I drove the last load and Nik, Lily and the cats to the trailer after 1am on April 1st. Afterwards, I gave our close friend, who was helping us move, a ride home to Ocean Park from Stringtown Rd. On my return trip I took Sandridge. Feeling myself growing more and more drowsy, I remember thinking that I should pull over and give my husband a call to wake myself up. Next thing I know, I open my eyes driving far too quickly into a sharp curve, I tried to correct it, but I ended up wrecking my car. I was told I rolled my car, but I only remember bits and pieces from during everything. I woke up in my destroyed car with both airbags out and covered in blood, and when the paramedics came, I was lucky enough to be able to walk away from the accident.

I got off relatively easy, I've been told a number of times that I could've died. Most of my injuries are in my left arm, which is having it's own problems healing as an area has become necrotic and there is still a lot of blood being reabsorbed, so the pain has been oppressive. With this accident, I lost my first real car and with it, my freedom to go anywhere on my own. My husband's car has a number of problems, and too small to be a good family car.

If you are able to help in any way, we would appreciate it more than you could ever know. Thank you for taking the time to read my story...
