Our First Show: Dorothy Does Oz

After over a year of hard work and organization, we at PS...Burlesque are finally ready to make our dream come true and produce our first fully scripted nerdlesque parody show! We have raised quite a bit through cabarets and merch sales, but we still have a ways to go to make this production a reality. This is where you come in, good glitter folx! Help us send Dorothy to Oz!
About the show and how we will use these funds:
"Dorothy Does Oz" is our first fully scripted, parody burlesque. As of this writing, the script is completed, the director and choreographer are hired, and we have assembled a design team (including costumes, props, and set design). We are currently trying to secure a venue for this show, which will be mounted in August to correlate with the 80th anniversary of "The Wizard of Oz." We will use this money not only to help produce the show itself (secure the venue, cover the cost of building materials, etc), but also to pay everyone involved. It is extremely important to us that artists be paid for their work, and we want to ensure that we have the funds available to do so.

Our mission is to create a glitter haven: a safe and inclusive environment for all artists and audiences. We aim to provide a groundbreaking space in which artists are empowered to use burlesque and performance as an outlet for the improvement of themselves and the world around them. Above all, our purpose is to improve both our community and society at large by injecting a little sparkle into the world.
