A Long Journey: Support for Kinescia and Her Family
Kinescia’s medical journey, and our family’s journey in loving support of her, has been a long one. Beginning with her heart transplant at age 6 in 2003, our tender and stubborn Kinescia has fought bravely for 14 long years through continuous operations, complications, and hospital stays. Most recently she was admitted to the hospital for treatment of rejection and has experienced multiple complications, including needing ECMO support. She has been surrounded by family and loved ones at the hospital.
All along this journey, Kinescia’s family has been with her, uprooting their home so that Kinescia could get the care she needed, and foregoing work to be able to be with her in the hospital, support her, and help her through all the complications.
She fought through each day and continued to show us how strong she was even to the very end of this long road but unfortunately, she was unable to recover from the latest rejection. As of March 4, 2017 she has been called home by our Heavenly Father.
On behalf of the Mantanona Family, if you are not able to be there in person or are just looking for a way to help, please consider donating to this fund. ALL donations will be used towards the funeral costs and to help Kinescia’s parents George and Antonette Mantnona, who have sacrificed so much to help their daughter.
