Oulu Cricket Club: Bowling Mats
We participate in the Northern Finland Cricket Cup, where we play against teams for example from Jyväskylä and Kuopio (further south in Finland). Our membership is all about bringing in players from different cultures and trying to find players who are new to cricket. It is a mission of ours to raise awareness regarding this great game here up north!
However, the time has come for us to replace our old and faithful bowling mat (as seen in our picture): the poor thing is now worn absolutely threadbare. As a small club, purchasing a new mat is a little bit beyond our means. We do put our pennies togheter for all the equipment and ground fees, but a new mat stretches our finances to a point where we humbly would like to ask your help in keeping good quality cricket going even in the less likely of places!
Ideally, we should like to be able to replace the mat in June/July 2017. Any and all donations are welcome and received with gratitude!
We would like to give you something in return for your donations:
10€: Official OCC sleeve badge
15€: Two official OCC sleeve badges
20€: Three official OCC sleeve badges OR a personal batting session (30 minutes) in our nets in Oulu.
25€: An official OCC mug and an official OCC sleeve badge OR a personal nets session with our players in Oulu (1hour)
30€: personal nets session for you and a friend (1h) in Oulu OR An official OCC mug and two sleeve badges.
Donations over 30€ will receive the OCC promo kit (mug+badges) and more nets practice time with us in Oulu.
After a long search, visiting a great supplier, working out the curious processes to do with actually shipping something over from India to Finland, we finally have the The Mat in Oulu! Join OCC and come have a go yourself!
The expense went a little over the estimate, thanks to unforseen extra harbour handling fees, so we still welcome any little you can push our way. :) We saved a little bit by joining forces with Jyväskylä CC, who now also can enjoy a new mat and boost the game of cricket in Finland for their part.
Thank you, everyone!
