Ossie Roach Medical Fund

Donation protected
Osmond "Ossie" Roach has been a beloved Bahamian icon for much of his 73 years. Whether playing bass with Cody and the Coralites to officiating for the Bahamas Swimming Federation, or his popular bookstore Bahamas Anglo-American Bookstore on Bay Street, Ossie is highly respected and always willing to help others in need.

Ossie has bravely endured his lack of mobility since a simple operation on his spine went awry back in 2002. He spent months in Miami being treated for infection and was left needing the use of a wheelchair or arm braces to get around. It also led to the closing of his bookstore which was his main source of income.

On July 11, 2018, Ossie and wife Cathy were enjoying his beautiful hometown of Barraterre, Exuma when he fell gravely ill. He was airlifted to Nassau and after a touch-and-go 24 hours is being airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Miami for further treatment.

Ossie does not have medical insurance so the expenses are accumulating. Both airlifts alone totaled over $24,000.  We are grateful to all those who have already assisted with donations and services. Any donation to his medical fund would be greatly appreciated.
