Help Oscar beat cancer!

Oscar Alejandro, 24,  was recently  diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer. A cancer that affects about 3 in 3 million people.  

This past July, Oscar was rushed to the hospital to prepare him for treatment, as the small lump found on his right leg was actually a 13cm round form case of Mixoid Liposarcoma. Because of his diagnosis, Doctors recommended a mix therapy of Chemotherapy and Radiation to decrease the size of the mass prior to surgical excision. He is to undergo 3 sessions of Chemotherapy and 1 session of Radiation Therapy, a treatment that will take about 6 months to complete. 

The purpose of this GoFundMe Account is to try and raise money to aid in his Medical Expenses, as well as to help his mother with monthly expenses incurred from having to travel to and from Puerto Rico, in order to be alongside his son during this time.

Due to the severity of his diagnosis, the Medical Doctors in Puerto Rico (where the diagnosis was made) recommended that Oscar receive treatment in the United States due to them not being able to deal with such an aggressive form of cancer due to lack of equipment in their hospitals. Because of this, Both parents have had to reduce their work schedules to help their son and are suffering both emotionally and financially.

Unfortunately, Oscar received this aggressive diagnosis, and his family is unable to financially keep up with the high medical expenses that come along with this rare form of cancer. During his first week of treatment,  Oscar has already incurred about $55,000 worth of medical expenses to which he and his family did not count on.  

These expenses have been a burden to the family due to the fact that Oscar had recently started working for a company to which he was not yet eligible to partake in their medical benefits. The family is currently receiving financial help from the hospital, however, have had to endure many expenses that go along with extended hospital stays, Chemo & Radiation therapies, and with ultimately with the surgery that he will require to remove the large mass on his right leg.
