Wee run for wee Barry

Hi folks...only meee,again!You might have noticed that I've been posting a few of my bigger runs again but as always..there's a method to the madness as I've been busy training because I've decided to run two marathons this time,as i must be a glutton for punishment!..the manchester marathon is tomorrow morn and also the belfast marathon in 2 weeks but it could not be for a better cause.so the time has come again(this will be the last time by the way!) to ask for some help from my good natured friends who helped me so much with my last fund raiser I did.well,this time the cause is even more special as its a bit closer to home for me,literally,because the wee boy involved is the son of one of my oldest friends,Barry Doherty, who I grew up with,who lived a few doors up from me.

I had heard 1 of his 4 kids,"wee" Barry,who's 10(and as you can see from the photo is also quite the ladies man!)had been diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy...a rare but fatal illness and I can only imagine how tough it must be for those involved.I'll admit I'd never heard of it before and learned that he was diagnosed almost 5 years ago and it was only when I saw him in a wheelchair last year that I realised how serious it must be and when I looked it up to see what it was..it really was bad reading ....I'm sure there's plenty of others who are unaware what DMD is so I've included a link at the bottom to click on to help raise awareness even a small bit.So please folks..as its for a great cause I'd be extremely grateful for all donations received which will be linked to wee Barry's fundraising account...thanks again everyone.
