Buy Beds for an Orphanage in India

As some of you know, I have been supporting a couple of girls at an orphanage in India.  This orphanage is a haven for street girls, young girls who are literally living in the streets and scrounging in garbage cans for food and for recyclables that they may be able to sell.  It is impossible to describe the squalor and danger of this life.  The outlook for these girls is pretty bleak -- begging, prostitution, horrible abuse, and an early death.  For a lucky few, some compassionate police officer brings them to the Jeevadhanam orphanage.  Here, they are fed, housed, clothed, and given an education.  

What started as an effort to buy the girls a computer to share has expanded into a larger project.  At present, the girls sleep on mats on the floor -- an improvement over the streets, but the orphanage would like to purchase twenty-five sturdy bunk beds for the girls.  

All money goes directly to the orphanage -- there are no middle-men and no bureaucracies to support.  I have a friend in India who gets receipts and sends them to me.  Many people have expressed a desire to donate directly to a worthy group but don't have the connections or the ability to make large donations.  This is your chance.  If we each chip in twenty or thirty bucks -- for most of us, the amount we spend on coffee each week! -- we can make an incredible difference in the lives of these girls.  More, of course, is even better!!
