Touch the life of a brilliant child today with as little as 10dollars. Meet Milda Vuguza a student in class 8 who walks for an hour to get home for lunch only to get home and find no food to eat. With her father deceased and her mother suffering from breast cancer, Milda and her four siblings depend on their sister who dropped out of primary to work as a house girl so that they can feed themselves which is usually roasted maize and black tea for dinner. Despite this, Milda still wants to be a doctor when she grows up. All she needs is an opportunity.
As a project manager at SID, we believe that despite where you came from you can make something out of yourself. Our organisation creates opportunities for such students to go through school by funding their primary school education thus getting them one step closer to fulfilling their dream. We pay school fees, provide lunch, uniform and basic healthcare for 55 needy students at Simboyi primary School; one of the best performing schools in Vihiga, Kenya. We support orphans who have been neglected, students with disabilities and others who are drowning in poverty.
For over four years, we have supported students like Milda and this year we would like to add more students to our program but we need your help! We are collecting donations to give more children a shot at clawing their way out of poverty.
About 10dollars will cover a student’s lunch in school so that students like Milda don’t sleep hungry and are able to concentrate in class.
About 20dollars will get students like Reagan Ombajo basic healthcare cover so that he doesn’t miss school and remains the second best performing student in the county.
About 30dollars will get students like Esther Kenda uniform for a year including a sweater and shoes so that despite both her parents being deceased she will afford to stay warm throughout the cold rains of Vihiga.
