Friends, family, and loved ones,

On Saturday afternoon, August 17th, my dear friend John Ornellas was at home had an accident and died unexpectedly. His wife found him and started life saving efforts while neighbors rushed to help and 911 was called. The efforts to revive him sadly failed. The trauma to the family is huge.

John and I have been friends for 20 years and we have shared many life moments together. I was so happy to be with their family for the births of two of their daughters in their home when I lived next door to them. I am deeply saddened to have lost the man I was honored to call one of my best friends and brother.

John and his wife Dawn would have been married for 22 years on October 11th.  They have three daughters; Willow 18, Abby 13 and Mia 11. John was a friend to all, and neighbor and a brother to many.  He helped out so many lives around him and is deeply missed.

Many of you are asking how you can help John’s surviving daughters.

John’s wife Dawn has been blessed to be able to stay home for the past eighteen years to raise the girls while John worked.  Just last week, John was saying what a priceless gift this was for the them. John and Dawn Ornellas called themselves “Team O” as they always worked as a team while raising their three girls together.

Now, in this difficult time, while still grieving the loss of her husband and provider and helping the girls navigate their loss emotionally, Dawn is also facing the stress of not knowing how to get back into to work force. It's overwhelming .

For those who’ve dropped off food and household necessities for the family, we appreciate you to the end of the earth and back. However, now we are also reaching out to ask for much needed financial help to get them through this time.

At this time, I’d like to ask you to donate whatever you can to help cover the costs of John’s celebration of life (memorial), along with the overwhelming costs the family is currently facing from the accident. Amid the grief and healing process Dawn will also be looking at ways to help her be able to return to the work force.  Any help would be greatly appreciated to help them while Dawn and the girls walk through this transition in life.

They are in need of $20,000.00 as soon as possible to cover medical and funeral expenses, any help beyond that would be greatly appreciated.

Please do share to all your contacts. We cannot do this alone

 Love to you all,

John Leimer, Dawn and the Ornellas girls
