Orlandus Noel's Heart Transplant

Donation protected
Family, friends, and FB, as the big brother of my family, I take this time to share the story of my youngest brother, Orlandus Noel, and ask for your continued prayers in regards to his ongoing heart condition.

Orlandus was born July 14, 1991 in Louisiana to Mary and Vincent Noel. He is the youngest of 3 brothers: Keyon & Jablonski "Rico." Our family soon moved to Lawton, OK where our father was stationed in the Army. We lived there for about 4 years before moving to Lakewood, WA for  5 years, then back to Lawton, OK where out father eventually retired. This is where Orlandus graduated high school in 2010 from Lawton Senior High and embarked on his journey in the culinary arts.

Those who are close Orlandus, aka "Big O," know that he has a very kind heart, always smiling and laughing, being the life of the party with his jokes and entertaining personality. When there was a family event, people were looking for "Landus."  Any gatherings of friends, they were looking for "Big O."

Orlandus is very loving to everyone in his life, especially family and friends and would go out of his way to give his own to help someone in need. He stayed active growing up playing baseball and basketball, as his parents and brothers did, and continued playing intramural softball after graduating.

In the later part of last year, 2014, Orlandus began having some pressure on his chest, shortness of breath and problems sleeping at night. This suddenly started one night and got to the point he felt was too uncomfortable. Orlandus asked to be taken to the ER for testing, where they eventually diagnosed him with congestive heart failure due to an enlarged heart and leaking mitral valve.  This caught Orlandus and our family by surprise, as he had never had any previous signs or complications.

Since being disgnosed, orlandus and family have been traveling back and forth to Dallas, TX to a specialist and undergoing treatment.  He also has weekly nurse house calls to check on him between cardiologist visits. Although the medication helps temporarily, it is an ongoing process to switch the doses as his heart reacts. The cardiologist advised that since the medication is only helping temporarily, the permanent solution would be to have a heart transplant.

Of course this is one of the most risky and costly operations that can be done. Primary insurance has declined to cover the operation, but we are in a process of an appeal and getting some approval from his secondary insurance.  Even with insurance,  there will still be out-of-pocket costs, and Orlandus will have to move to Dallas, TX within 30 miles of doctor for approx. 6-8 weeks after the operation. With these aforementioned circumstances, our family humbly asks for any assistance and/or donations to help us get Orlandus a new heart so he may have a great recovery and continue his loving and entertaining life.

For the Lord is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, our heads are held high in faith.

UPDATE:  After appealing with primary insurance and waiting on further correspondence,  the family has been informed that secondary insurance has generously elected to cover the operation for Orlandus. This is uplifting news to the family only 2 days after starting this campaign, and we will continue to pray for a safe operation and recovery.

As stated before, Orlandus will still incur additional expenses and has been out of work since his condition started. He will continue to be out of work during recovery and will have to relocate to Dallas for at least 2 months during the recovery time for therapy and counselling. We appreciate ALL previous and further donations to assist Orlandus moving forward.  Thank you and we appreciate your continued prayers!

May GOD Bless!
