Oreo's Eye Removal

Oreo was brought to Furever Homes For Felines by a good Samaritan's daughter, who found him in their backyard. Both of Oreo's eyes were crusted shut. His left eye suffered the most damage with stick and brush sticking out of it. After doing as much cleaning of his eyes as we could, he was brought to the vet for further evaluation. Our vet told us that his left eye's eyelashes and eyelid were too long, curling inwards and scratching at his pupil. Oreo went in for surgery to treat those problems, but it still did not look better. The vet then discovered an ulcer in that left eye and that the eyeball was too small for the socket. Ultimately, Oreo will need the eye removed.

Oreo is now in foster care. He is adorable, fluffy, and looking forward to the day he can live happily and pain-free with whoever may adopt him.
