Helping Camp Koinonia expand their Ministry and install a rock wall and high ropes+ Read More
I haven't posted about #OperationPurpose in sometime. It's been rather discouraging. For those who don't know, Operation Purpose is an effort to raise $15,000 for Camp Kononia to install a rock wall and high ropes to give youth an opportunity to learn and know about Jesus Christ and give their lives a Purpose. I have dedicated this year to try and raise the funds to make it reality. I have been faithful in putting in the miles. I have completed 1,687.59 miles to date. The fund raising part isn't going so well. I have one 50k run left on November 11th. In December I am planning on running the entire Greenway Trail In Ashtabula county (Approximately 26 miles). And will be looking for support for the December run. This effort will roll over to 2018 until my goal is met. I am looking for sponsors. Wheather you want to make a one time donation or per mile is up to you. Essentially I have raised a dollar per mile. I believe we are around $1,800.00. You can go to www.christiancampohio.org to learn more about Camp Koinonia, their mission and services. There is also a link to the GoFund me site to donate.
Second big run for #OperationPurpose is tomorrow. The Cleveland Marathon. Testing the limits of my heart and body. We're stuck on $1,380 for the rock wall. What are your limits? Can we reach$2,000 th is weekend?
Entering the last 9 days before #HallOfFameMarathon. 8 miles or less on each run. All easy runs. Works out great after the calf injury. Short easy runs to make sure I'm good. Get my confidence where it needs to be. Slow and steady just like raising funds for Camp Koinonia to install a rock wall and high ropes to help make a difference in the lives of campers! It's much work and doesn't happen instantly. 615.4 miles to date. 99.1 hours invested. Great things take time.
Today I went on a 12 mile bike ride. It was great! As a kid we used to ride to Grandpa & Grandma's house often. Perhaps the small injury is trying to tell my not to limit myself. Not to stay in the same old thing. I can do more. Maybe a solo dualathlon? I might become a crazy cyclist! You can do more! Help support #OperationPurpose
