Chris is a single father with two beautiful children and he has more than fallen on hard times.  And he has fallen on hard times through no fault of his own.  Now, I understand that requires some clarification, so please allow me to explain.  Chris worked for the United States government in some capacity for 16 years and racked up 7 overseas deployments during the absolute prime of his life.  However, now with young children at home, Chris thought it was time to turn in his boarding passes for something a little bit more local.  After reaching out to a local veteran’s employment advocacy group Chris was able to secure temporary employment whilst he searched for a full-time position.   After much diligence, Chris obtained an interview at a local retail furniture store and was hired almost instantly.  After 2 months of employment Chris was the company’s best salesmen beating out the previous salesmen’s record by more than double.  However, he soon realized that he needed to go back to school in order to obtain his true goals in life. So, Chris made the decision to see if you could go back to school.  After doing some research, he realized that he could go back to school on the post 9/11 G.I. Bill and utilize the Cost of Living Allowance (C.O.L.A.) to support his family.  So, for the first time in a while Chris and his children had some stability, they moved into a nice apartment in Georgia and he even started driving for UBER, things really started to look up for Chris.  It was just a great thing to see and even better to talk to him on the phone, it was just hard charging Chris making his way in the world and providing for his kids.  Then Chris and numerous other veterans were struck by the incompetency of the very government that he and thousands of other veterans have given much of their lives and health to, when this story broke: "Veterans haven't received GI Bill benefits for months"

As you can see, thousands of Veterans were affected by this not just Chris.

To Quote another Veteran in the article "I’m about to lose everything that I own and become homeless,”, “I don’t want to be that veteran on the street begging for change because I haven’t received what I was promised."

Well, unfortunately that is where Chris is at.  You see one day he was called down to the dean’s office and told that he was being dropped from school due to Non-Payment.  Then he finds out that they just didn’t stop paying the schools tuition but they also stopped sending him his C.O.L.A. because you are required to be enrolled in school to receive C.O.L.A.  So now, no longer receiving the C.O.L.A. payment made it impossible for Chris to make his car payment.  And we all know what happens when you miss your car payment.  So now we are left with a US Veteran who gave the United States Government 16 years of his life with 7 deployments to active combat zones who has been dropped from school, had his car repossessed and also lost his only other means of income as a result ALL THROUGH no fault of his own.  He entered into a contract with the government and they breached it.  Then to add insult to injury last week he found out that he has been diagnosed with Brittle Type 2 Diabetes.  So please, I humbly ask you, help me, help him.

This is someone looking for a hand up, not a hand out.  Our goal is to get Chris a reliable vehicle so he is able to get to his medical appointments and equally as important it will give him the ability to generate his own income.  This is a holiday story that needs a happy ending and it is in YOUR POWER to make that happen.  Please find it in your hearts as the holidays are quickly approaching and with Veterans day just passed, if you REALLY want to help a disabled veteran and his family, this is the way to do it; directly to the veteran.  So, come on people dig deep, let’s do it!!
