Operation Jessie's Service Dog

I have Cystic Fibrosis and Type One Diabetes. Because of my illnesses, I am on disability and am unable to do many things. I have been researching getting a service dog to help me out with tasks and provide me with mental and physical support.

I need to purchase the dog, purchase service animal training, dog supplies, money for veterinary bills and check ups, and a little extra cash on the side, for anything else that may come up.

Not only will this service dog help provide me with much needed physical help and stimulation, but it will provide me with emotional support for my depression and anxiety.

The dog will help me get up and out more, going for walks, getting much needed exercise for the both of us. I will be able to make new friends through service dog groups and people I meet while out training my new best friend. I will be engaged in getting up to train my pup every day.

My support dog will be trained in alerting me to blood sugar changes, alerting someone if I am in trouble, brace against me during coughing fits, bring me my medications when I cannot get them myself, bring me drinks when my blood sugar is low, and help me with general chores around the house.

Getting a support dog (and getting the proper training) is an expensive endeavor, but one that I think I will benefit greatly from in the long run.
