Operation Homeless 2016

After a visit to downtown Indianapolis in December of 2012, I was shocked by the number of homeless people I observed. Many of them were sleeping on street corners and in alleys with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. This moved me to do everything in my power to make a difference. In 2012 I launched Operation Homeless so that I could try and make the holiday season more enjoyable for those in need (not to mention helping to keep them warm). I have been blessed with great friends and supporters who have helped with this project and have put just as much effort into it as i have. Through the help of our generous donors, we were able to provide members of the Indianapolis homeless population with over $1000 worth of goods during our fist two years of operation homeless. Last year we raised $1400 and were able to pass out 24 loaded care bags to those in need!

We are hoping to provide backpacks filled with a number of non-perishable foods, water, toiletries, socks, hats, scarves and gloves. In addition we also provide things such as bandaids and hand sanitizer, which are very important to have when you are lacking the means to receive proper medical attention. This year we have received a great deal of interest from even more people interested in being involved in our project and are looking forward to making it a success. We have set a goal of at $1000 with hopes of being able to provide at minimum 24 care backpacks to the homeless population of indianapolis. If we exceed our goal we will purchase $20 gift cards for every care bag as we did last year!! Thank you to all and I wish you all a happy holiday season. God bless!
