Operation: Andy back in action

For many years Andy has suffered from severe Crohn’s Disease and on January 15th he was admitted to United Hospital in St. Paul, MN for the second time since December due to complications from this.  This latest battle resulted in bacterial sepsis caused by an abscess. Sepsis is a serious medical condition caused by an overwhelming response to an infection leading to inflammation and organ damage. Andy was doing well until January 28th when he began to have exruciating pain. The CT scan showed the abscess had burst and he was rushed into surgery. They removed almost 40cm of his small intestine and flushed his abdomen to rid it of the puralent drainage.  He hasn't been able to eat solid foods since December and has lost over 30 lbs. in the last two months.  His recovery is going to be long and require a continued stay in a transitional care center once he is released from the hospital.  Andy is one of the sweetest guys around, the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back. He also enjoys spending time with his family and doting on his niece and nephews. He loves his cat Jade who he misses terribly,  watching the Wild play, spending time up north, and fishing. .  Andy lives on a fixed income and is only able to work part-time as a cleaner at Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport, but he takes great pride in his job and has received numerous accolades from his employer and travelers. He has been out of work since December and truly misses his job.   During  this time Andy has kept a positive attitude and continues to keep smiling as he has held onto his faith that God will get him through this.  Andy is very worried about how his monthly bills are going to get paid during this time.  The hospital bills haven't started showing up yet but we know they will be in the thousands. We started this page to raise money to help pay his monthly expenses and cover any hospital/ transitional bills so he can focus on his recovery.   We thank you for any assistance you can provide to Andy.
