Opening the first brewery in Downtown Stuart, FL

We have been brewing beer for 5 years and are BJCP (Beer Judge Certification Program) certified beer judges. We have won 6 medals in 2018 alone in sanctioned completions. Now we are partnering with our friend, fellow brewer, and UC Davis master brewer to open the first brewery in Stuart, FL. Together, we have education and experience in finance, brewery planning, general contracting, management, equipment installation and maintenance, brewing process and many more areas related to opening and running a craft brewery.
We we want to be Stuart’s local brewery, for locals, by locals focused on quality beer styles and a travel themed atmosphere.
Currently we we have raised about 1/3 of the total funds we will need to open between the three partners. We anticipate opening a fully functioning, high quality, 7 barrel system brewery that will cost around $750,000. As we work through the process of negotiating a lease for our downtown Stuart, FL location and begin renovations, we are looking for funds to help purchase our brewing equipment. Any google search will give you an idea of equipment needs and pricing. We will require a brew kettle, mash tuns, hot and cold liquor tanks, fermentation tanks, bright tanks, grain processing equipment and the like necessary to brewing large volumes of beer for public consumption. We estimate, through sales quotes, that our 7 barrel brewing equipment will total $250,000. We are starting with a 7 barrel system because it is easily doubled by volume to accommodate growth and also an appropriate starting size to provide quaility craft beer to the Stuart, FL and surrounding areas population. To date, there is no brewery in Martin County. We want to fill a much needed void in the craft beer scene here in South Florida.
