One Eyed Sammy's Lumpectomy Fund

My name is Sam, but my mommy & daddy like to call me One Eyed Sammy. Some of you may know my story, but others are just learning about my struggle. So I'll fill you in.
I can't really remember what type of life I lived before I met my new family - I just know it wasn't a very good one. My mom says the shelter told her I wasn't in good shape when they found me. I had a really bad case of demodectic mange which made my fur fall out in spots. I also had a bad left eye and the doctors at the shelter had to take it out. They told my mom it was secondary glaucoma. They also took away my manhood, but we won't talk about that part.
I was in the shelter for many months and nobody wanted me because they thought I was a scarred-up fighting pitbull (Unbelievable right? I'm the biggest sweetie there is - according to my mom of course). I remember the security guard feeding me peanut butter & jelly sandwiches and he was my only friend... until the day my mom came. She told the lady she was there just for me! I felt so special. We played for a little bit but then she had to leave. When she came back the next day to visit, she brought me some toys. And I'll never forget the day (February 11th, 2017) when my dad and her brought my new brother Clyde and sister Taylor to the shelter to meet me. They had 4 legs just like me and I couldn't wait to play. I was so happy but I had to stay calm so they could see I was a good boy and take me home.
After all I've been through, my mommy tells me I'm her special handsome boy and don't ever need to worry about anything bad ever again.
But lately my humans have been really worried about me. You see there is a little lump on my side. My mom noticed it one day when I broke out in hives. She thought it was a bug bite, but just to be safe she took me to the doctors. The vet thought I might have something called a Mast Cell Tumor. This type of tumor releases antihistamines which gives me hives because my body thinks it's having an allergic reaction. I had to take this medicine stuff called Prednisone for 4 days and it made me really thirsty and I had to pee... ALOT. The itchy scratchy hives went away, but not the lump. I heard my mom call the vet to see what we could do next. She sounded really worried and told my dad something about a fine needle aspiration.
On Friday I had to go back to the vet. I was happy to see all the nice people there and the doctor - until she stuck my lump a few times with a needle (ouch!). I heard her say they were going to send the cells from my lump to a laboratory to see if I need surgery.
On the way home my mom noticed I was breaking out in hives again. The vet told her if this happens, my lump is most likely a Mast Cell Tumor and I have to take 75mg of Benadryl right away. When I got home my mom snuck some of those pink pills into my treats. They tasted funny but she covered them in peanut butter so I was okay with that.
My mom and dad tried to stay positive but since I broke out in hives again, they are sad. They don't want to put me through another surgery, but my mom says it'll help me stay healthy. When my results come back on Monday, I might have to go in that same day or Tuesday for my surgery. Since they saved me from the shelter I have been a very happy boy. They always do what they can to make sure my brother, sister, and I have the best lives possible. They always tell people - "our dogs are our kids" - so they must really love us. So if you could help them in anyway possible, not only will they appreciate it and be very thankful, but Clyde and Taylor will be happy to because they love having a lil brother around to play with (even when I steal their toys!)

Thank you for reading my story!
