On behalf of friends, coworkers and the loved ones of Ms. Omega McKinnon,
We are heartbroken about the sudden loss of this beautiful soul who has made such an impact in the lives of all who had the opportunity to work and become friends with her. In tribute to her life and memory, we established this fund to assist her mother, Elaine McKinnon, and son with expenses associated with planning funeral services and other unforeseen expenses. We kindly ask for donations to help prepare her family for this next chapter of their lives.
Omega joined the City of San Antonio (COSA) in 2016 as a Budget Analyst within the Office of Management and Budget and later as a Fiscal Analyst for the Solid Waste Management Department. She worked as the Department Accounting Supervisor with the Department of Human Services. She was also a member of the Women’s Leadership Mentoring Program. In her application to the program, Omega said she enjoyed “giving back and making a difference in the community, so a career in public service is only fitting.”
Omega moved to San Antonio from Greensboro, North Carolina, with her son, who is 13 . Those who were fortunate to get to know her knew that she was a devoted and loving mother, ensuring that she gave her son all the opportunities and experiences to prepare him for his future.
Omega was a strong, independent, spiritual person and always quick to lend a helping hand. We will always remember her loving spirit and beautiful smile. May she rest in peace.
